An Efficient Inverse Scattering Algorithm and Its Application to Lossy Electric Trans- Mission Line Synthesis

چکیده
As studied by Jaulent in 1982, the inverse problem of lossy electric transmission lines is closely related to the inverse scattering of Zakharov-Shabat equations with two potential functions. Focusing on the numerical solution of this inverse scattering problem, we develop a fast one-shot algorithm based on the Gelfand-LevitanMarchenko equations and on some differential equations derived from the Zakharov-Shabat equations. Compared to existing results, this new algorithm is computationally more efficient. It is then applied to the synthesis of non uniform lossy electric transmission lines.

Lossy Electric Transmission Line Soft Fault Diagnosis: an Inverse Scattering Approach
Abstract—In this paper, the diagnosis of soft faults in lossy electric transmission lines is studied through the inverse scattering approach. The considered soft faults are modeled as continuous spatial variations of distributed characteristic parameters of transmission lines. The diagnosis of such faults from reflection and transmission coefficients measured at the ends of a line can be formul...
متن کاملThe Schur Algorithm and its Applications
The Schur algorithm and its times-domain counterpart, the fast Cholseky recursions, are some efficient signal processing algorithms which are well adapted to the study of inverse scattering problems. These algorithms use a layer stripping approach to reconstruct a lossless scattering medium described by symmetric two-component wave equations which model the interaction of right and left propaga...
متن کاملShielding Effectiveness of a Lossy Metallic Enclosure
In this paper, shielding effectiveness (SE) of a perforated enclosure with imperfectly conducting walls is evaluated. To this end, first, an accurate numerical technique based on method of Moments (MoM) ispresented. In this method, lossy metallic walls of the enclosure are replaced by equivalent electric surfacecurrent sources. Then, the impedance boundary condition on the imperfectly conductin...
متن کاملAn Efficient Numerical Inverse Scattering Algorithm for Generalized Zakharov-Shabat Equations with Two Potential Functions
The inverse scattering problem for coupled wave equations has various applications such as waveguide filter design and electric transmission line fault diagnosis. In this paper, an efficient numerical algorithm is presented for solving the inverse scattering problem related to generalized Zakharov-Shabat equations with two potential functions. Inspired by the work of Xiao and Yashiro on Zakharo...
متن کاملIncreasing the detectability of a buried object by depositing a passive superstrate on the ground
A ground-penetrating radar (GPR) antenna excites a perfectly electric conducting (PEC) inclusion buried inside the ground. One of the main problems in the detection of the PEC inclusion via external measurements is its poor scattering response due to attenuation. Hence, increasing the scattered power generated by the inclusion is of great practical interest. To this direction, the main purpose ...
